Why Online Therapy?
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, many of us took our work home and online, and so did therapists! Online therapy, also known as "teletherapy" has been proven to be an effective method for therapy for individuals, couples, and families, and just as effective as meeting your therapist in an office.
Many clients have experienced the ease and convenience of meeting with their therapists online and skipping the commute while feeling safe in the comfort of their own homes.
In 2020 when the pandemic first began, I switched all my clients to online counseling, and haven't looked back. While some were worried about how different it would be, many have told me they wish to continue using teletherapy even after the pandemic ends.
Prior to the pandemic, I experienced my own personal therapy via teletherapy and loved the convenience and comfort of going to therapy without having to drive, find a parking spot, and wait awkwardly in a waiting room.
How Teletherapy Works
I utilize a HIPAA complient video sesion platform called Simple Practice to provide teletherapy.
After your information is entered into the client portal and all your forms and documents are filled out and signed, you will receive a link via email and/or text for your scheduled video appointment. From your phone, computer, or tablet, you can connect to our session via this link anywhere you have a stable internet connection and a private space where you can speak freely. Some clients even log on from their cars during their work break!
Your information is kept safe and secure, and you have access to online appointment making and documents such as your superbills. Payment is convenient as well, as you can add a default credit card that will be automatically charged after your session.
An initial consultation can be over the phone, but it can also be via video to test out the technology and feel of teletherapy to see if it's right for you.
